Annual
Division Retreat
-
To encourage division-wide dissemination of research goals and results, the Division holds an Annual Retreat at an off-site location, where Division members can enjoy a break from routine scheduling demands for a few days. The goals of the retreat are to promote cross-fertilization and communication among the various people in the division, with the hope that new ventures will arise; to provide constructive feedback on research directions and progress; and to provide a relaxed and informal environment where issues can be raised and discussed for further action.
The retreat has been held at locations such as Berkeley Springs, WVA, St. Michaels, MD, and Gettysburg , PA. This year's retreat was held in Harpers Ferry, WV, and included a white-water rafting trip. Click here to see retreat photos, and here to see rafting trip photos.
ICMIC Retreat
-
An annual retreat is sponsored by the In Vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center (ICMIC), part of the Division of MR Research. This retreat provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research in the ICMIC program and fosters multidisciplinary interaction between the members of ICMIC and SAIRP. Monthly
A “state-of-the-division” meeting is held monthly, where all Division members are welcome. Long-term goals as well as budgetary concerns, progress and projections are outlined, as are day-to-day issues that affect research work, such as planned and projected scanners, service center operations, allocation of resources and general operations issues. These meetings are a highly effective way to keep everyone in the Division informed about all the aspects of the current status of the Division.
